Minions Take Over Universal Orlando

The new Minion Land at Universal Studios in Orlando is so much fun!

This adorable land officially opened in August, 2023. While the Minions, Gru and the girls have been making appearances at Universal for years, the new expansion adds dining, a set meeting area and a new ride.

Joining Despicable Me Minion Mayhem is Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast. This attraction is an interactive experience featuring multiple villains from the Despicable Me franchise. Use your E-Liminator X blaster and test your skill as you blast your way to supervillain stardom.

Four new Minions themed food venues also join Minion Land.

The Minion Cafe is a quick service dining option that features a whimsical design and delicious sandwiches, desserts, soups and tasty Minion shaped tots! There are multiple dining rooms inside with different themes and plenty of seating.

I’m a sucker for a sweet baked treat, so Baked My Day is definitely my favorite addition to the park! The shop features freshly baked cookies, cupcakes, macarons, cake pops, and more, plus pre-packaged treats and souvenirs.

If you are looking for a cold treat, step up to Freeze Ray Pops, a walk-up window where you can get a colorful popsicle or frosty cold beverage. Or try sweet and savory popcorn available at the Pop-a-Nana Snack Kiosk.

For me, a day at the theme park just isn’t successful without a character Meet & Greet!

Visit the Illumination Theatre and pose for photos with the Minions, Gru, Margo, Edith, Agnes, and Vector along with characters from the film ‘Sing’.

If you are looking for a great souvenir, you have plenty of places to shop in Minion Land, including the Evil Stuff shop located at the exit of Villian Con and Super Silly Stuff.

So grab your favorite Minion – big or small – and head to Universal Studios for lots of fun with the Despicable Me crew!
