Think Disney Cruise Line is Just for Kids? Think Again!

Yes, Disney Cruise Line has great kids clubs, family friendly musicals and characters at every turn, but did you know there is a ton for adults to do as well?

Last week I took my first Adults Only sailing with Disney. My sister, my brother and I sailed from Miami on the Disney Dream.

I’ll be the first to admit that I am a big kid when it comes to characters and Disney themed shows and I definitely enjoyed those aspects of the cruise. However, I also really enjoyed the adult-only venues and activities.

Let’s start with my favorite area – the Quiet Cove Pool. This area is for sailors aged 18 and older and has a pool, swim up bar, and large infinity hot tub. There is also a coffee bar for guests to enjoy.

I love how quiet this area is. We even enjoyed complimentary head and neck massages one day. I personally skip getting off the boat in Nassau and enjoy how empty the pool deck is on that day.

Another area we spent a lot of time in was The District. The District is home to several lounges and bars where you can listen to music, watch sports, participate in Mixology Seminars, enjoy the Drink of the Day or play trivia. We loved spending the evenings at Evolution and participating in and watching game shows – including Match Your Mate, which is always entertaining.

Pink is a personal favorite spot for me on this ship and a must do on each sailing. Pink is a Champagne Bar where you can relax with a glass of champagne or participate in a wine or champagne tasting seminar.

On our second day onboard we enjoyed Brunch at one of two Adult Only Restaurants on the Disney Dream.

Palo features delicious Northern Italian cuisine prepared to order and serves Brunch and Dinner. Reservations are required.

Our brunch was absolutely delicious! The service was some of the best I’ve ever had and the views from Deck 12 were gorgeous.

The dining experience includes a welcome drink, sodas, coffee and several courses. From the bread basket to the Goat Cheese Flatbread (big enough to share!) to the generous Main portions and decadent desserts, this was absolutely our favorite meal!

Remy offers fine French cuisine for dinner only.

Both Remy and Palo require reservations and do have an additional cost.

One of the best things about a Disney Cruise is a stop at their private island, Castaway Cay. Even Castaway Cay has an Adult Only space, Serenity Bay. Serenity Bay has its own buffet, as well as a bar and plenty of beachfront lounge chairs. There are also private cabanas available to rent for the day.

If you are looking to relax and rejuvenate, look no further than Senses Spa. This is a full service spa with services ranging from Manicures to massages and everything in between.

So whether you are sailing with the kids and want a brief escape or you want to take a grown ups only vacation, Disney Cruise Line has something to offer you!
